What are e-bills?

E-bills are online student billing statements.

Can other people view a student’s e-bill and make payments?

Yes. A student may set up other individuals such as a parent, guardian, employer, or other third party as “Authorized Payers” to view their e-bill and make payment online. Any Authorized Payer will receive an email notification each time a new e-bill is available. We encourage students to establish as an Authorized Payer any person who typically views and/or pays their term bills. There is no limit to the number of payers a student can authorize to view and pay their bills.

How is personal and financial information kept safe?

E-bill uses several methods to ensure that your information is secure:

  • User ID and Password
    Your User ID and password are unique identifiers that only you know. As long as you don’t share your user name and password with anyone, no one can view your bills or personal information.
  • SSL
    E-bill uses SSL (secure socket layers) which ensure that your connection and information are secure from outside inspection.
  • Encryption
    E-bill uses 128 bit encryption to make your information unreadable as it passes over the Internet.
  • Automatic Sign Out
    E-bill automatically signs you out of a session if you are inactive for 20 minutes.

Are all computers safe to use?

Computer security experts advise that you may put your information at risk when you use a public computer for personal business. The use of public computers may compromise the security of your information. Public computers include those in schools, libraries, Internet cafes, etc.

For maximum security you may want to avoid using public computers when enrolling or modifying your personal or banking information.

What types of payments are accepted?

Williams accepts checks, money orders and electronic transfers from your bank to our bank. Credit credit card payments (with a convenience fee of 2.99%, $1 minimum) can be accepted from MasterCard, VISA, Discover and American Express and must be made through the e-bill system..

How do I make a payment?

Once you are enrolled in Williams e-bill, simply sign in to see a summary of your current e-bills. The billing statement at the top of the list if the most current one. Then click to view the detail of your bill or you can click on “pay.”  Select the amount and the date you want to pay.

International students may pay via a wire transfer process. Williams has partnered with peerTransfer to streamline the bill payment process for international students. With peerTransfer, you can pay from any country and any bank. You are offered excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing you to pay in your home currency (in most cases) and save money as compared to traditional banks. You will also be able to track where your payment is in the transfer process via a student dashboard and an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you when your payment is received by Williams. How can I verify that a payment has been received?

If your payment was done by ACH through the e-bill system, you can log into the e-bill system, go to My Payments and you should see the transaction. You will see 7 columns; Confirmation Code, Account, Amount Paid, Payment Date, Type, Status and Action. Status will be one of the following:

Scheduled: Payment scheduled for a future date
Pending: Payment being processed
Authorized: Funds secured from CC / Bank account validated
Approved: Payment approved with funds
Rejected: Payment rejected
Cancelled: Payment cancelled by user
Aborted: Recurring payment was cancelled by the system
Returned: Payment was returned by financial institution (e.g. NSF)
Refund: Refund scheduled for a future date
Refunded: Funds deposited into user CC / Bank account

There is a “details” button under Action which will show you the history of your payment.

If you or your family have paid by check or by ACH or credit card through the e-bill system, then you (the student) can log into PeopleSoft and view your account information through Self Service. Go to Menu and Navigation>Campus Finances>Account Inquiry and review your account.

When is my e-bill updated?

All payments and activity since the last e-bill will be reflected on the next billing statement.
